In order to register to attend SEMC 2016, all participants (Authors and Non-Authors alike) must (i) submit a completed registration form, and (ii) remit the applicable registration fee. The registration fee will differ, depending on whether one is an Author of a paper or a Non-Author participant. The applicable rates are indicated on the registration form. The registration fee will cover a full set of the published SEMC 2016 Proceedings (Book + CD-ROM), attendance at all plenary and parallel sessions of the Conference, the Welcome Reception, the Conference Dinner, as well as lunches and refreshments throughout the Conference.
The final deadline for registration for attendance at the Conference is 20 May 2016 for Authors of papers, and 15 July 2016 for Non-Author participants. Early registration is encouraged for both Authors and Non-Authors; there is an early-bird discount for Authors and Non-Authors who register before 29 February 2016. To encourage participation by students, a reduced registration rate is offered to all full-time research students who intend to attend the Conference and present a paper. To qualify for this rate, proof of full-time student status as at 1 September 2016 will be required.
Only papers of Authors who have registered will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Authors of papers will need to plan to register by 20 May 2016 in order to ensure that their papers are included in the published Proceedings. In this regard, a single registration will cover the publication of not more than 2 papers. If an Author wishes to submit 3 or more papers, an extra charge will be payable, unless one or more co-authors will also be registered to attend the Conference.
Local participants should make payment in South African Rands. International participants should remit the registration fee in either Euro or US Dollars (both currencies are equally acceptable). The registration form indicates the amounts that are payable in each of these currencies, for various categories of participants.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds on cancellations are subject to a deduction to cover administration costs and bank charges. The deduction shall be 15% of the registration fee paid if the cancellation is notified before 31 May 2016. No refunds shall be given for any cancellations made after 31 May 2016, but in the event of a previously registered delegate being unable to attend the conference for whatever reason, it will be acceptable to have another person attending in his or her place.
