SS01: Modelling and Optimization of Composite Structures

Organisers: Prof. Aurelio Araujo & Prof. Jose Madeira, University of Lisbon, Portugal

Emails: aurelio.araujo@ist.utl.pt ; aguilarmadeira@tecnico.ulisboa.pt

Summary: The purpose of this special session is to bring together researchers in the field of modeling and optimization of composite structures, covering, but not limited to, the mathematical, computational and experimental investigation of composite laminated beams, plates, shells and sandwich structures, among others. Contributions are invited on the following topics: Smart, multifunctional and ceramic composites; Functionally graded composites; Nanocomposites; Homogenization, hierarchical, discrete and multiscale optimization of composite structures; Inverse problems in composite and adaptive structures; Dynamic and buckling/post-buckling analysis of composite and sandwich panels; Acoustics, heat transfer and fluid-structure interaction in composite and sandwich structures.
