SS10: Non-Destructive Evaluation of Structures

Organiser: Prof. Al Ghorbanpoor, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA

Summary: The aim of this special session is to provide a global forum for engineering researchers, practitioners, owners and inspectors to exchange and discuss knowledge related to the state-of-the-art as well as the latest developments on and applications of different methods of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) for bridges, buildings and other structures. Contributions in all areas of NDE (including visual, sonic, optic, radiography, thermography, magnetic, radar and other methods), and addressing any aspects of structural evaluation, monitoring or material characterization, are invited. NDE methods for the detection of various types of deterioration in civil engineering materials (such as steel, concrete, wood, composites and other special materials) will be relevant to the session. Contributions are also encouraged in the areas of data analysis and data fusion, modeling/simulation, software and robotics for automated NDE.
